A year of change for us here in Northumberland
Well, 2022 is drawing to a close and from all of us here at Hedgeley Honey, we’d like to wish you a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
It’s been a year of great change for us. We launched our online shop, so fans of our Northumbrian honey can order their favourite varieties quickly and conveniently. For everyone who has done so, we thank you so much for the custom.
However, If you’re in North-East England, we still have suppliers in Northumberland and Tyne and Wear – here’s the full list.
Happy Christmas – A new addition to our range
While our Northumbrian Heather Honey and Northumbrian Blossom Honey and cut comb are as popular as ever, our latest variety has wowed everyone who has tried it. Our Borage Honey is produced by our Northumbrian bees on a pollination contact in the commercial borage fields of Cambridgeshire. It’s a light, delicate honey and we heartily recommend you try it!

Also close to our hearts has been National Honey Day, held on October 21 and hosted by The British Beekeeping Association (BBKA). You can help local producers survive and thrive by making sure the honey you purchase is produced ethically by bees here in the UK. You can read more about its aims here.
Happy Christmas – new ways with honey
One idea that’s proved really popular is the post we published on serving honey as part of a cheeseboard. This seemed to have stuck in many people’s minds as Christmas buffets loom up. Do check out the original post – it’s a comprehensive guide on which type of honey to pair with which cheese. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll be hooked!
If you haven’t tried pure Northumbrian honey yet, now’s the time to do so. Get your orders in quickly so you can receive them before Christmas – our jars make excellent gifts! Do bear in mind that there are postal strikes which may delay your order.
Again, have a Happy Christmas and a wonderful new year!
